The Maltings Arts venue in Farnham , Surrey is exhibiting Ali Cockrean’s work throughout February (to Feb 29th 2008). For Ali it is a return to an area where she lived some years ago and a chance for her to meet some old friends when she visits The Maltings during the show. “I lived nearby at Normandy and, in fact, was born not so very far away at Portsmouth, so I do feel at home whenever I’m in this area.” It is great to be able to take much of my London show to such a great venue.” The Maltings is open daily.

Cork Street showcases Ali’s most recent work (28/01/2008)

Ali kicked off 2008 with an exhibition in Gallery 27 in Cork Street, London. The show “Life is Beautiful” was a joint exhibition with fellow abstract painter Robin Eckardt and sculptor Allan Henderson. For Ali it was a chance to show selected works from the last year including paintings from her two main collections of 2007 - Beyond the Verbal and Space in Mind – as well as her most recent work. Ali commented: “Taking a selection of my work to Cork Street at the heart of the contemporary art market in London was important and sharing the space with two other artists enabled us, jointly, to present an absorbing variety of art and ideas.”

Ali Gets Big Art World Break (04/03/2007)

Local artist, Ali Cockrean is celebrating a major success after securing an opportunity for her work to be seen by the art world elite. Ali, who only turned professional two years ago, was invited by the prestigious Artspace Gallery in Maddox Street, Mayfair - the heart of London's art buying district - to display her work as soon as it reopened following refurbishment. They asked Ali, as one of the new artists they had most wanted to feature, to be in the first exhibition when the space opened to the public. In the first seven days of the exhibition her work has aroused so much interest it is now featuring as part of an exclusive collection at an official opening for the gallery, which will be attended by some of the most influential people in the art buying and collecting world. This represents a major landmark in Ali’s art career to date and has forced a significant increase in the valuation of her current work. The surprise success comes just two weeks before Ali will be unveiling her new collection "Beyond The Verbal" at Gallery Hadley in Thame. Ali commented "As big breaks go, this is about as good as it gets for artists! London is the art capital of the world and this is the kind of opportunity every artist dreams of. It highlights your work to the world's most influential buyers, investors, dealers and critics. It's always been important to me to do all I can to ensure that my work is not just a purchase, but a real investment. To see this happening is fantastic." Ali however remains committed to showing her work locally, close to where she lives and paints, with the full collection only being displayed for a week at Gallery Hadley in Thame. The "Beyond The Verbal" exhibition will run from Tuesday 27th March until Sunday 1st April 2007.
